If you missed Part 1 of this two-part series, check it out here.
Day 1
09:00 AM: Silence for the past 2 hours. Did the mouse read my previous post and swiftly retreat?
09:12 AM: Sarah informs me that mice sleep 14 hours a day. How does she know so much about mice….
11:15 AM: I prepare for battle. Traps purchased and set.
04:00 PM: Sarah spills whole container of Gorgonzola cheese on the floor. Whose side is she on…?
04:47 PM: Sarah reaffirms allegiance to House Connell after questioning.
11:00 PM - 06:00 AM: Traps ineffective, mouse having a rave in wall next to my head.
Day 2
8:17 PM: Mouse making ruckus under fridge while we're making dinner.
10:00 PM - 12:35 AM: Eerily silent in van throughout our first sleep cycle, so we decide to check traps.
12:40 AM: Mouse made mortal mistake of galavanting through glue trap under the fridge — possibly hungover from his 8-hour rave the night before.
I gave the mouse every opportunity to end this amicably — peace accords, no-kill traps, leaving on his own free will— but it was all in futility. Mice do not listen to a voice of reason. This experience has given us a renewed appreciation for the comforts of Dot — particularly in the evening.
I also learned that Sarah makes the same noise when she thinks a mouse touched her that she does when she ALMOST GETS EATEN BY A BEAR — post up now.
